Tony Gonsolin of the Los Angeles Dodgers (41–25) became the first in MLB to reach nine wins this season with strong batting, 17 hits, including Freddie Freeman’s 5 RBIs in 8–2 dominance at the Cincinnati Reds (23–44) on Tuesday.
“I feel like I’m throwing a lot more competitive pitches this year and able to get some early contact, which allows me to be more efficient and go deeper into games,” said the 28-year-old Gonsolin.
The right-handed Gonsolin (9–0, 1.58 ERA) threw 87 pitches in five innings of work for four strike-outs; giving up three hits, and two solo home runs in the first two innings to Jonathan India and Albert Almora….
