The QS World University Rankings 2023 has finally been released by Quacquarelli Symonds, the world’s leading higher education research institute. MIT ranked first for the 11th consecutive year, 7 universities in Hong Kong were on the list, with the University of Hong Kong ranked at 21.
This year’s QS World University Rankings is the largest list ever, with 1,418 institutions listed, over 150,000 academics and nearly 100,000 employers’ views collected. The rankings are based on six metrics: academic reputation (40 percent), number of citations (20 percent), student-teacher ratio (20 percent), employer reputation (10 percent), and internationalization of faculty and students (5 percent each).
Looking at the standings, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is ranked first. The University of Cambridge that ranked third along with Stanford University last year, moved up to second place, Stanford remained in third place. The University of Oxford came fourth this year, and Harvard University remained in fifth place….
