Tuesday, June 7, was California’s primary election day. San Francisco voted to recall progressive District Attorney Chesa Boudin in a heated campaign that bitterly divided Democrats over crime, policing, and public safety reform.
In another deep-blue city, Los Angeles, billionaire developer Rick Caruso held a narrow but widening lead over U.S. Rep. Karen Bass early Wednesday. He and Bass will face off in November to serve as Los Angeles’ next mayor.
