UVALDE, Texas—The school police chief who made the decision not to immediately breach the classroom where a man with a gun was killing students was not punished on June 3 during a meeting of the Uvalde school district’s board of trustees.
The board made the decision not to act against Pete Arredondo, the district’s police chief, behind closed doors while consulting with attorneys.
According to the meeting agenda, Arredondo could have been suspended or terminated.
The board was meeting in public for the first time since the May 24 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, which left 21 and the shooter dead….
