A roadside bomb exploded near a police van in the southern port city of Karachi on Monday, killing a woman passerby and wounding about a dozen others, according to oficials.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion fell on separatist terrorists in Baluchistan who have been waging a low-level insurgency there.
“Explosive material was placed there, apparently to target a police vehicle” said provincial minister for labour Saeed Ghani.
“So far we have information that a woman has lost her life and 11 other people have been injured. Three of them are in serious condition. The rest are out of danger,” he told reporters at the scene.
