Sugar scrubs are great for the skin. Packed with cleansing, moisturizing, and exfoliating properties, they’re simple to make and don’t use too many ingredients. Soap artist Katie from Royalty Soaps shared her recipe for DIY peppermint sugar scrubs. Follow along to make your own—perfect for yourself or as a gift to friends and family!
Refer to Katie’s video to gather all the required supplies. Then, gather the following ingredients: 10 ounces of white granulated sugar
4 ounces of clear melt and pour soap
2 ounces of shea butter
2 ounces of olive oil
2 mililitres of peppermint fragrance oil (skin safe)
5 drops of tomato red colorant from TKB
1/2 teaspoon velvet pearl mica from Nurture Soap Instructions
Step 1
Katie advises putting half of all your main ingredients in separate containers. This is because you’ll be making two separate batches of sugar scrubs, one red and the other white. Put five ounces of sugar in one container, two ounces of melt and pour soap in a second container, and one ounce of shea butter with one ounce of olive oil in your final container.
