Airlines canceled or delayed thousands of flights across the United States as companies blamed severe weather in Florida for the chaos. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed Saturday that it placed a limit on flying over Florida due to severe thunderstorms passing over the region. About 3,400 flights were canceled on Saturday and Sunday and thousands more were delayed, data from the tracking website FlightAware shows, according to Fox News. Some 8,800 flights were canceled over the past weekend, FlightAware’s numbers also show. As of Monday morning, there were approximately 500 canceled and 1,050 delayed U.S. flights, according to FlightAware.
