In 2008, Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Georgia, and it was met with mild concern. In 2014, Putin invaded the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, and again it was considered unfortunate, but it was still unclear what could be done about it. In February of this year, Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Let’s go back to President Donald Trump’s term in office when he warned Europe about sending billions of dollars to Russia for energy and failing to fulfill their NATO obligations.
