A hospital in the UK has allegedly told the police that there was no male in its female ward after a woman was allegedly raped by a transgender person, it was revealed on Thursday. Debating on single-sex wards during the detailed scrutiny of the Health and Care Bill in the early hours on Thursday, Emma Harriet Nicholson, Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, told the House of Lords that the incident happened “about a year ago.” “There is only one definition of rape in Britain and that is male on female. You cannot rape if you do not have the structure of a male,” Nicholson told the Peers. Nicholson said the woman, whom she did not identify, reported her alleged rape to the police.
