After touching down in Western Australia (WA), Prime Minister Scott Morrison has made quick work of unveiling a $74 million (US$54 million) federal boost towards the development of key projects in the state’s capital, Perth. It brings the total Perth deal to $1.69 billion (US$1.24 billion), including a new university campus in the heart of the city, a new bridge over the Swan River, and several upgrades to cultural locations across the city. The price of the $853 million (US$624 million) city-centred Edith Cowan University (ECU) campus will be divided amongst the federal government (to the tune of $294 million, or US$215 million), state government ($199 million, or US$146 million), and the university ($360 million, or US$263 million).
