HONG KONG—Hong Kong police said on Tuesday they had arrested a 41-year-old man for suspected sedition and money laundering, whom local media identified as singer Tommy Yuen. The Hong Kong police’s national security department confirmed that a 41-year-old had been arrested for public comments and online posts that authorities deemed carried “seditious intent.” “He hoped to incite hatred towards the Hong Kong government … and to stoke discontent among the Hong Kong public,” senior superintendent Steve Li told reporters. He declined to confirm whether the arrested man was Yuen. Yuen couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.
