The Pennsylvania state GOP has said that it will not endorse a challenger in the packed Pennsylvania primary race to replace retiring Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), and will instead allow would-be nominees to fight it out amongst themselves. The state party made the decision after a vote held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, showed that party officials opposed giving an endorsement to any of the contenders, despite early leads among party activists for real estate developer Jeff Bartos. President Donald Trump, whose endorsement is a coveted one among many would-be lawmakers, has also stayed mum on the race and has yet to give an endorsement to any of the candidates trying to replace Toomey.
