JOHNSTON CITY, Ill.—“So, it’s very exciting for me. Two years ago, I was living in Wuxi in China and so, to me, it’s like a homecoming,” said Mike Klumpp after watching Shen Yun Performing Arts. Klumpp, a pastor and an author, was attending a performance at ETSU Martin Center for the Arts in Johnston City. Shen Yun’s mission is to revive traditional Chinese culture and share it with the world through the universal languages of music and dance. He described his reasons for leaving China and why he felt strongly that a performance like Shen Yun was so beneficial for people at this time.
