COSTA MESA, Calif.—An ongoing dispute among education officials regarding the Orange County Board of Education voting maps may be solved with the intervention of a judge. The Orange County Board of Education filed a lawsuit on Jan. 21 against the County Committee on School District Organization—who recommends the board’s district maps—after a month-long debate over where the board member’s district boundaries should be drawn, according to Orange County Board of Education President Mari Barke. The lawsuit states the committee allegedly did not meet the Dec. 15 deadline to properly adjust the voting map and refused to accept the map provided by the board.
