One of three Eastern Quebec groups of truckers and supporters of the “Freedom Convoy” departed Friday from near the U.S. border south of Montreal with tens of vehicles as they head to the meeting point of Vankleek Hill Friday night, before heading to Ottawa on Saturday. Truckers and supporters have mobilized across Canada after the government imposed in mid-January a vaccine mandate on truckers who cross the U.S. border, and the movement now targets more broadly other restrictive COVID-19 measures. A lot of Canadian flags have been seen so far on trucks and being waved by supporters across the country. This time, an equal amount of Quebec flags could be seen, but for either flag, many of them were displayed or flown upside down as a sign of distress or protest.
