Commentary What makes the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) so dangerous? Is it the fact that the elites in Beijing appear to speak a completely different language to the rest of the world? To be clear, by language, I’m not referring to Mandarin. I’m referring to a type of language completely detached from reality. Part speaking in tongues, part speaking in plain old nonsense, this type of language. Let’s call it doublespeak with Chinese characteristics, which has become frighteningly common since COVID-19 burst onto the scene. It’s now beyond reasonable doubt that the coronavirus originated in Wuhan. Was it intentionally created, or was it the product of mismanagement, negligence, and overall ignorance? In truth, we don’t know. What we do know, though, is that the virus originated in China.
