Commentary The New York Post newspaper published a story on Oct. 14, 2020, that revealed Hunter Biden had allegedly abandoned a laptop at a computer store in Delaware, and due to the explosive nature of the contents of that laptop, it had ended up in the possession of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney for Delaware, possibly as evidence in ongoing federal investigations. Later, after the laptop story broke, an unnamed Justice Department official revealed an FBI investigation into alleged money laundering had begun in 2019. In December 2020, it was revealed that a federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s tax affairs had begun two years ago, back in 2018.
