France is banning traveling “without compelling reasons” to and from the UK from Saturday over the Omicron variant of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus. Tourism and business trips will not be considered as compelling reasons, but French citizens, residents, their spouses or cohabiting partners, and their children will still be able to travel to France. Arrivals from the UK will have to pre-register online before traveling, show proof of a negative PCR test or TAG (antigen) test that is less than 24 hours old, and take another test upon arrival, irrespective of their vaccination status. They will also have to self-isolate for seven days, or two days if the post-arrival test result is negative.
