WASHINGTON—The Biden administration has been swift to bring its immigration and border security pledges to fruition in the White House. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said during a Jan. 21 briefing that, “Immigration, we consider, is part of racial equity—which is a broad issue, but that’s how the president has spoken about that crisis over the past several months.” Psaki said President Joe Biden is focused on addressing four crises, including getting the pandemic under control, getting people back to work, the climate, and racial equity. On day one, the administration signed executive orders and issued memos to temporarily suspend deportations of illegal aliens, reverse former President Donald Trump’s ban on travel from terror-prone countries, halted border wall construction, stopped adding people to the “Remain in Mexico” program, preserved and fortified the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, and released a sweeping immigration package to Congress that includes …
