MINNEAPOLIS—For Claude Balestra, vice president of finance with Cargill, watching Shen Yun Performing Arts was a moving experience. “Very powerful, very moving, very peaceful,” Mr. Balestra said after watching the performance at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on Dec. 4. Mr. Balestra said he was impressed with the dances and the costumes used in the performance, as well as the music. “I felt it was really magical because it’s the way they dance and the way they use the fabric to dance and create all the flow of the movement. I thought it was beautiful,” he said. “The music was really beautiful.” He said he was particularly impressed by the erhu, also known as the Chinese “two-stringed violin.” “That was very amazing to see the two-stringed instrument do all that,” he said.
