The Liberal government presented a plan to the opposition on Dec. 2 to end the dispute regarding the release of sensitive documents on the firing of scientists at Canada’s top bio-safety laboratory. Government House Leader Mark Holland made the offer in the House of Commons, proposing that a member of each party, with a back-up, be assigned to a special committee to review the documents, and three agreed-upon retired judges could be assigned to assess what can be released to the public.
