The FBI and local law enforcement are investigating an explosion that occurred Saturday at a Los Angeles-area church that is known for its open condemnation of homosexuality. Police officers responded on 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 23 to what they initially believed was a vandal who had broken the windows of the First Works Baptist Church in El Monte, reported The Associated Press. “Then we realized that the windows were not smashed, that they had actually blown out from some type of explosion,” Lt. Christopher Cano of the El Monte Police Department told AP. FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said that no injuries have been reported and a joint investigation is underway to find the individual or group responsible for the attack.
