Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is running for a fourth term in office, she announced Friday. Her campaign released a video painting Murkowski, known for regularly voting with Democrats, as a lawmaker who can withstand the “political winds” with her “strong, steady, principled leadership.” The narrator called Murkowski a “one-of-a-kind senator” who “has earned the respect of her colleagues in both parties.” Murkowski said that she is running for reelection “to continue the important work of growing our economy, strengthening our Alaska-based military, and protecting our people and the natural beauty of our state.” She warned Alaskans that “lower 48 outsiders” would try to influence the vote “for their partisan agendas.” Murkowski was originally appointed as senator by her father, then-Gov.
