Just days before the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) sixth plenary session, the party’s mouthpiece media published a series of articles spotlighting Xi Jinping’s “achievements.” International observers point out that what Xi has done could be categorized as regressive. The articles praised Xi for his “foresight,” being “wise and decisive,” and “a series of strategies and major decisions that the leader has done in the new era he pioneered.” The CCP’s official media Xinhua News Agency released a special article on Nov. 8, that used more than 3,000 words to tout the “new era” of the Chinese communist regime “for the benefit of the world” and to set off the atmosphere for the opening of the CCP’s Sixth Plenary Session.
