Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced Australia’s plan to reach net zero emissions by 2050, ahead of the 2021 United Nations (U.N.) Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland. This comes after international pressure, including from current and past U.N. officials, who have demanded that Australia reduce emissions and cut coal use.
