The Central Intelligence Agency says that it’s creating a top-level working group aimed at China, calling the regime in Beijing “the most important geopolitical threat” America faces today. The China Mission Center aims to address “the global challenge posed by the People’s Republic of China,” CIA Director William Burns said on Oct. 7, stating that such a challenge “cuts across all of the Agency’s mission areas.” A senior CIA official said the agency will hire Mandarin translators and mobilize Chinese specialists globally.
