CANOGA PARK, Calif.—A homeless man who allegedly fired shots that damaged an occupied restaurant in Canoga Park was in custody on Sept. 24, authorities said. Sebastiano Cummings-Cruz, 23, was booked on suspicion of “attempted murder with enhancements,” and was held on $2.15 million bail, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Cummings-Cruz, a transient who frequents the Canoga Park area, allegedly entered the Shake Shack in the 6600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, near Vanowen Street, at about noon Thursday and “caused a disturbance,” according to the LAPD. Cummings-Cruz was asked to leave the restaurant and once he did, he allegedly turned around and fired numerous shots through the storefront windows, causing them to shatter.
