The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) is developing a “one-stop-shop” app for residents to use as a type of vaccine passport when checking in to venues with QR codes. The new app will be piloted in early October, making it easier to deny entry to unvaccinated people, and making it more “seamless” for fully vaccinated people to show proof and check-in. “Technically, a lot of venues won’t let you check-in, because you won’t be vaccinated,” NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklean told reporters on Tuesday. “So this product means that when you put your QR code on a cafe or restaurant, it will say you’re vaccinated, and you’ll be allowed into the venue.” The premier said the whole point was “having a one-stop-shop on your phone” for both checking in when visiting a location or venue and showing proof of immunisation, which she said makes it easier for businesses and …
