A federal judge in Michigan on Wednesday sanctioned Sidney Powell, Lin Wood and seven other attorneys who represented the Trump campaign in a lawsuit challenging the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. U.S. District Judge Linda Parker referred the nine attorneys for investigation and possible disbarment or suspension by relevant state authorities. Parker also ordered the sanctioned attorney to pay the court fees tied to the election lawsuit and to take legal education classes. “This lawsuit represents a historic and profound abuse of the judicial process,” Parker wrote in a 110-page opinion (pdf). “It is one thing to take on the charge of vindicating rights associated with an allegedly fraudulent election.
