The first round of applications for California’s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program opened on Dec. 30 and will close Jan. 8. The program is broken up into two windows. The first window of applications will be from Dec. 30 to Jan. 8. The second window is yet to be determined. Businesses with an annual revenue up to $100,000 are eligible for a $5,000 grant each. Those with revenue $100,000–$1 million are eligible for $15,000, and those with revenue of $1 million–$2.5 million are eligible for $25,000. Owners of multiple businesses will only be considered for one grant, and are required to apply for the business with the highest revenue. Applicants can expect to receive their notifications for approval starting on Jan. 13. Many small business owners reported that the website was slow and it was crashing the morning of the program’s opening, probably due to the amount of traffic. …
