Parents who cohabit but never marry are far more likely to split up before their child becomes a teenager, a study has found.
According to a report published by the Marriage Foundation on Monday, 46 per cent of 14-year-olds in the UK are no longer living with both natural parents.
By the time their first-born child turns 14, 60 percent of unmarried couples have separated.
