A Shire horse who gave birth to a stillborn foal is healing from heartbreak by fostering two orphaned foals as her own.
Sammy, a 12-year-old Shire horse, became a foster mom to two thoroughbred foals after each lost its mother shortly after being born. Jess Westwood, the owner of Molland Ridge Stud and Rehabilitation in Somerset, England, knew she had a crisis on her hands when a foal named Mouse, born at her center, lost her mom to complications.
