The Chinese regime’s state-sponsored killing for organs is “abhorrent,” and the United States needs to take the lead in end it, said Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.).
“It’s an abhorrent practice, it is an outrage, and it cannot be countenanced,” he told The Epoch Times. “There has to be consequences and accountability.”
Mr. Perry wants his bill, the Falun Gong Protection Act (H.R. 4132), to be an impetus for change.
Falun Gong—a spiritual discipline teaching the values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance, along with a full meditation practice—is a principal target of the regime’s industrial-scale organ transplant abuse. The discipline emerged in China in 1992 and had drawn tens of millions of followers by the end of the decade. Deeming this popularity a threat, the atheist Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in July 1999 began a nationwide persecution of adherents with the aim of wiping it out.
