The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has sold the rights, assets, and properties of its Golden Globe Awards to new owners, closing a chapter for the struggling nonprofit.
Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge Industries, a holding company owned by investor Todd Boehly, announced their purchase of the awards show June 12.
The Foreign Press Association will transition to an entertainment-related charitable organization, according to the announcement.
“We are excited to close on this much anticipated member-approved transaction and transition from a member-led organization to a commercial enterprise,” the press association’s president Helen Hoehne said in the release.
