Former President Donald Trump accused President Joe Biden and his band of “thugs, misfits, and Marxists” of orchestrating his arrest on Tuesday, saying it is the pinnacle of an “evil and heinous abuse of power” by a sitting president.
Trump, who is the leading challenger for the 2024 presidency, denounced his indictment while delivering remarks from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, hours after his arraignment.
“Today, we witnessed the most evil and heinous abuse of power in the history of our country—a very sad thing to watch,” Trump told a crowd of his supporters. “A corrupt sitting president had his top political opponent arrested on fake and fabricated charges, of which he and numerous other presidents would be guilty, right in the middle of a presidential election, in which he’s losing very badly.”…
