Attorneys for Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) filed a lawsuit against Vice President Mike Pence after failing to reach an undisclosed agreement over what authority Pence will have as the president of the Senate when Electoral College votes are vetted on Jan. 6, according to a court filing by Gohmert’s attorneys. Gohmert and a host of others, including Republican electors in Arizona, filed a lawsuit against Pence this week, asking a court to give Pence “exclusive authority” to decide which Electoral College votes should be counted during the upcoming joint session of Congress.
