Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has called on Anheuser-Busch and the Beer Institute to investigate the marketing relationship with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney whose social media followers are primarily under 21.
Cruz, along with Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), on Wednesday, sent a letter to Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch and chairman of the Beer Institute, requesting the Beer Institute launch an investigation into the “recent and ongoing marketing partnership” with the Mulvaney (pdf).
“Anheuser-Busch needs to answer questions about their advertising partnership with Dylan Mulvaney,” Cruz wrote on Twitter. “Mulvaney’s content is directed at a younger audience. Why would Anheuser-Busch promote their product to people who cannot consume it?”…
