We’re at a frightening point in time. The media, which is supposed to serve as a government watchdog, is now operating hand in glove, or even worse, at the behest of a government with whom it is supposed to maintain an adversarial relationship. The purpose of traditional media is to check and challenge what our government is telling us, to operate on the assumption that the government is inclined to lie to the American public, and to uncover those lies. But today’s Corporate media has completely forsaken that role and is now openly messaging on behalf of the government—at the government’s direction and in open opposition to the best interests of American citizens.
