All day following the termination of Tucker Carlson at Fox News, we were flooded with speculations about the motivations of the company and the commentator.
The most obvious one concerns Fox’s $750 million settlement with Dominion’s defamation lawsuit. In discovery, counsel found texts from Tucker in which he expressed incredulity about hard claims of mass voter fraud. He never doubted manipulation of the system (no one does) but resisted the hard claims of a stolen election. And those texts provided the evidence that the plaintiffs needed to prove intent to deceive.
That’s one version, in any case. No one knows if that was the key reason for Tucker’s termination….
