The pipa solo piece “Spring of Tian Shan” was originally a solo piece for the rawap folk instrument by Usman Jan and Lichun Yu. In 1961, it was adapted into a pipa solo piece by Wang Fandi and was widely circulated.
This song depicts the beautiful scenery when spring arrives at Tian Shan mountain. It also vividly depicts the joyful and lively scene of the Uyghur people playing tambourines, singing, and dancing at the foot of Tian Shan by utilizing a Uyghur folk tone and Xinjiang folk dance style….
