Some of the greatest romantic comedies were undoubtedly from the Golden Age of Hollywood (approximately 1934 to 1959). In many cases, part of the cinematic alchemy that made these films so successful was the natural chemistry and behind-the-scene comradery between their leading actors.
A case in point would be the sublime pairing of Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn in the classic rom-com such as 1938’s “Holiday,” as well as “The Philadelphia Story,” produced in 1940. Grant and Hepburn appreciated each other’s talents off-screen and were on very friendly terms, which led to both their comedic and romantic vibes to seem natural and effortless to viewers….
