PALERMO, Italy—Orchestra director Gaetano Colajanni attended Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Teatro Massimo on March 5. Colajanni found everything about Shen Yun fascinating.
“I have to say that I was very fascinated, both by the dancers, that is, from their professionalism, really very perfect, and then also by the orchestra, because I saw how they interpreted the music, which is original, of course. Although the music is not from that period, they always respect the canons of what were the pentatonic scales of that time, that is, respecting what is Chinese music,” he said.
The stage sets and Shen Yun’s connection to the audience also fascinated Colajanni. “I am really very fascinated, not to mention the sets, this is new, [and this connection] that there is between the audience, the people, the actors’ in short, this is really a new discipline. Very nice. Very nice. Congratulations really. I hope it spreads all over the world, because it is a very interesting thing.”…
