Colorado goalkeeper William Yarbrough stopped two shots.
The teams combined for 25 shots overall, with six on net. Both teams had corner kicks during extra time.
LAFC (3–0–2, 11 points) produced 14 shots, with four on target.
The Rapids (0–3–3, 3 points) were shutout victims for the fourth time this season and have only two goals in six games.
Colorado produced five of the last six shots of the first half. But none of the Rapids’ launches in the opening half were on target, so McCarthy wasn’t called upon for a save though he was busier by early in the second half….
