WASHINGTON—A group of bipartisan lawmakers last month introduced the first bill to combat global organ trafficking. If passed, the measure would end U.S. silence on the lucrative organ harvesting trade perpetuated by the Chinese communist regime, according to experts. U.S. lawmakers in early March reintroduced legislation in the Senate and the House to stop China’s state-sanctioned practice of forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience. Similar legislation was introduced in the previous session of Congress in December last year.
