SAN MATEO, Calif.—For some dance studios, the held in San Mateo in February was the first time they would come out in full force since the pandemic three years ago.
Held at the impressive 1,600-seat San Mateo Performing Arts Center, the event showcased some newcomers such as the San Francisco High School of the Arts (HSArts), who swept the competition with five 1st place awards amongst seven contestant studios, earning recognition for their exceptional choreography. The team also brought home the highest overall score for a studio at the competition.
One standout member of the team was Ms. Hanna Zhang, who was recognized as the best choreographer at the event. Her skills and creativity shone through in the team’s routines, which wowed both the judges and the audience….
