HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—Kendra and Richard Krell attended Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Von Braun Center on Jan. 25. Mrs. Krell does administrative work for a gym and Mr. Krell is an aviation expert, pilot, and Chief Warrant Officer in the army.
New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in 2006 by a group of leading Chinese artists who had fled the persecution of China’s ruling communist party. Following the regime’s violent takeover in 1949, Chinese traditional culture underwent a period of mass destruction.
Shen Yun’s mission is to show “China before communism.”
“It’s beautiful,” Mrs. Krell said.
Mr. Krell noted how history and dance were combined to explain the story. He said, “It’s a beautiful culture. It’s about caring and people taking care of each other.”…
