A federal District of Columbia jury took less than two hours to find Richard “Bigo” Barnett guilty of four felonies and four misdemeanors for his time in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021—including the now-famous photograph with his feet on a desk in the office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Jury deliberations resumed at 9 a.m. E.T. on Jan. 23 after brief deliberations the afternoon of Jan. 20. At about 10:30 a.m., the jury told U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper they had reached verdicts on all counts.
Barnett, 62, of Gravette, Arkansas, was convicted of civil disorder, obstruction of an official proceeding, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, entering and remaining in certain rooms in the Capitol Building, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building, and theft of government property….
