The Senate will vote on expanded background checks for gun buyers and a bill that would dramatically change how elections are run, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on Thursday. During a speech on the Senate floor and in a letter to colleagues, the Democrat said the upper chamber will turn its attention to voting rights, economic recovery and jobs with an emphasis on climate change, and health and gun safety. “We will try to work with our Republican colleagues on a bipartisan basis when and where we can.
