California has seen a surge in CCP (Chinese Communist) Party virus cases despite imposing some of the strictest lockdown measures of any state in the United States. The state became the first to record 2 million confirmed coronavirus cases, reaching the milestone on Christmas Eve as nearly the entire state was under a strict stay-at-home order. As of Dec. 24, there were 39,144 newly recorded confirmed cases of the virus in the state, bringing the total number of positive cases to 2,042,290, according to figures published by the county Department of Public Health. Meanwhile, there have been a total of 23,947 deaths in the state. Los Angeles County, the most populous county in the United States, has been hit particularly hard.
