The National Hurricane Center (NHC) issued warnings for Subtropical Storm Nicole along Florida’s eastern coast for later this week.
Nicole, which is forecast to turn into at least a Category 1 hurricane later this week, is predicted to impact Florida on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, according to an NHC model. The system, located in the western Atlantic Ocean, is currently hundreds of miles northeast of the Bahamas.
“A Hurricane Watch has been issued for the east coast of Florida from the Volusia/Brevard County Line to Hallandale Beach and for Lake Okeechobee,” said the NHC on Monday morning. A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are possible within the watch area within about 48 hours….
